A mixture of different types of clay forms the basis of this surface brick. The most important base material is loess of local Aeolian origin from the Ice Age. This loess consists of a silt-like fraction, which is highly suitable for the production of handmade bricks. The desired color is achieved by using specific types of sand for the surface coating.

The famous architect Hundertwasser wrote in his manifesto “The Dictatorship of Windows and the Right to Windows” that houses are made of windows, not walls.

“Some people claim that houses are made of walls. I say that houses are made of windows.” When I first saw the object created by Uniform, this sentence of Hundertwasser came to my mind.

After 30 years of designing and observing windows and studying the way they are displayed in showrooms, this is the first time I have seen not a window, but a wall that can be designed to move freely, avoiding that intervention that always leads to compromise in a good furniture project. Magis40 provides a democratic design of the verticalization of the wall, which until now interior design has not allowed for with forced “sealing” and rough windows.

Magis40 broke down the wall of rudeness in window frames, allowing design freedom beyond light and for light, by directing the light itself and making it a key player in interior design.

Magis40 allows the designer to play with occupied and unoccupied spaces, choosing to make the window the main player or a supporting character. Magis40's strong ability to combine materials and its great technical performance provide a unique gain.
